During the first 48 hours 

  • Apply cold compresses to the cheeks and around the nose as instructed by your surgeon.
  • Get plenty of rest and avoid strenuous activities.
  • Sleep with your head elevated at an angle of approximately 30–45 degrees.
  • Do not sleep on your side or face down.
  • Do not touch or put pressure on the nose.

  • Do not wear glasses that rest on the nasal bridge.
  • Do not blow your nose forcefully.
  • Avoid excessive smiling or strong facial expressions.
  • Do not play sports or engage in strenuous activities.
  • Attend follow-up appointments and have sutures removed as scheduled

Diet 

Recommended foods

  • Pork.
  • Freshwater fish.
  • Green vegetables.
  • Fruits rich in vitamin C.

Limit

  • Seafood.
  • Chicken.
  • Sticky rice dishes.
  • Water spinach.
  • Alcohol and tobacco.

Normal signs 

  • Swelling around the nose.
  • Bruising around the eyes.
  • Mild tightness in the nose area.

Contact your surgeon immediately if you experience 

  • Prolonged bleeding.
  • Increasing pain.
  • Fever.
  • Abnormal nasal deviation.
  • Pale white or dark purple skin on the nasal tip.
