Currently, there are many implant brands available in the cosmetic market, and each brand has its own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, the following section analyzes some of the most well-known implant brands today to help patients make more suitable and diverse choices.

Implantech Associates Inc

Implantech Associates Inc. is one of the world’s leading brands from the United States specializing in the production of aesthetic implant materials. In the Vietnamese market, the company is widely recognized for its high-quality nasal implants, chin implants, and temple implants.

Main products

  • Grade 40 Silicone Block – silicon mềm mại cao cấp nhất, tùy chỉnh tuyệt đối bằng tay bác sĩ
  • Voloshin & Flower’s style – đặc biệt cho mũi châu Á và mũi Mỹ gốc Phi
  • ePTFE (PureForm) – dòng Gore-Tex thế hệ mới, tích hợp mô tốt hơn
  • Prefabricated nasal implants – sẵn kho, nhiều form dạng chuẩn

Advantages

  • Grade 40 Silicone is considered the gold standard in over 30 years of clinical research
  • FDA-certified for safety
  • Used in major studies at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital
  • Highly customizable – surgeons can easily trim and shape the implant directly during surgery

Disadvantages

  • Because the brand offers many specialized product lines, surgeons need significant experience to choose the correct implant size and shape from the beginning
  • Some traditional silicone lines still have a certain level of firmness. For patients with very thin skin, additional autologous cartilage or Megaderm wrapping may be required

Segment: Positioned in the premium segment. This is not a low-cost mass-market implant brand, but one aimed at major cosmetic hospitals and patients who prioritize safety and long-term durability.

Compatibility rate: Very high, exceeding 95%

Reputation: Most international cosmetic surgery textbooks reference implant lines from Implantech Associates Inc.. In Vietnam, leading surgeons often prioritize this brand for difficult cases or procedures requiring durability for more than 10–20 years.

Key difference: Moderately firm, highly customizable, and available in many shapes

Commonly used in: The United States, East Asia, and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.

Surgiform Technology Ltd

Surgiform Technology Ltd. is one of the leading medical implant manufacturers in the United States, headquartered in South Carolina. The company was established based on the legacy of Dr. Claire Straith, one of the pioneers of modern plastic surgery. The brand is best known for its Surgiform (ePTFE) implant line.

Main products

  • SFAM ePTFE Sheet & Carvable Blocks – made from 100% pure ePTFE, not silicone coated with ePTFE
  • PureForm Facial Implants – controlled tissue integration (CTI), allowing easier removal when necessary
  • ePTFE Nasal Implants – featuring a 20–30 micron internodal distance optimized for tissue in-growth
  • Silicone + ePTFE Hybrid Implants – a 2023-generation implant line with a 92% retention rate after 18 months

Advantages

  • Does not shrink over time, unlike original Gore-Tex implants from W. L. Gore & Associates
  • Post-surgical nose height is more predictable, supported by clinical studies
  • Easier to remove than traditional Gore-Tex in case of complications due to CTI technology
  • Better resistance to impact compared to traditional silicone implants and reduces the risk of redness at the nasal tip for individuals with thin nasal skin
  • Highly flexible and easy to sculpt, creating a refined nose shape with a natural feel similar to real cartilage

Disadvantages

  • Since surrounding tissue attaches closely to the implant, removal surgery can be more complicated and requires a highly skilled surgeon compared to silicone implants
  • A small percentage of implants may still experience slight shrinkage, around 5–10%, after many years of implantation

Segment: Premium segment. This is a top choice for patients seeking long-lasting, safe aesthetic results and who have a higher budget.

Compatibility rate: Extremely high, estimated at 95%–98%. ePTFE material has long been used in medicine for artificial blood vessels, so rejection reactions are very rare.

Reputation: The products are FDA-certified in the United States for safety and effectiveness. In Vietnam, Surgiform implants are approved by the Ministry of Health and are widely preferred by major cosmetic hospitals.

Key difference: Softer than silicone and more stable than older Gore-Tex implants.

Commonly used in: South Korea, the United States, and Europe.

Stryker Corporation – MEDPOR

Stryker Corporation is a major medical corporation founded in 1941 by Dr. Homer Stryker, an orthopedic surgeon from Michigan, USA. Today, Stryker is one of the world’s largest medical device companies and is listed in the Fortune 500. MEDPOR is the commercial name for a high-density porous polyethylene material. Introduced by Stryker in 1985, it has been widely used as a replacement for autologous cartilage and bone tissue in complex reconstructive surgeries.

Main products

  • MEDPOR – High-Density Porous Polyethylene, launched in 1985 and used in more than 400,000 surgeries
  • MEDPOR 2.0 – integrated with Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP) and AI-assisted planning
  • CT-Based Patient-Specific Implants – fully customized implants based on CT scans
  • Stryker Facial iD System – an integrated ecosystem for implant design and fixation

Advantages

  • The porous structure allows blood vessels and soft tissue to grow into the implant, helping it become integrated with the body
  • Provides the highest level of long-term stability
  • Commonly used for complex reconstructive cases and severe nasal collapse
  • MEDPOR maintains its volume and shape over time

Disadvantages

  • Very difficult to remove because of deep tissue integration
  • Since the material is relatively rigid, placing it under thin skin or too close to the surface may thin the skin and lead to implant visibility or extrusion, reducing natural appearance
  • Highest cost among implant materials
  • Higher risk due to its porous structure
  • Requires a highly skilled surgeon to place the implant in the correct layer and reduce risks of rejection or early-stage infection

Segment: Positioned in the premium implant material segment.

Compatibility rate: Very high, estimated at around 90%–95%.

Reputation: Stryker Corporation is a Fortune 500 medical device company in the United States with a long history and strict quality control standards. MEDPOR has more than 30 years of clinical data and has been used in millions of surgeries worldwide, serving as strong proof of its long-term safety.

Commonly used in:  The United States and Europe, mainly for reconstructive procedures.

Guangzhou Wanhe Plastic Materials Co. – Yusha

Guangzhou Wanhe Plastic Materials Co. is an implant manufacturer based in Guangzhou, China, and is widely used in Southeast Asia, especially in Vietnam. It is considered one of the largest biological medical material manufacturers in the region, exporting products to more than 20 countries.

The Yusha implant line is a biological silicone implant specifically designed for Asian facial structures. The brand focuses on creating soft and natural-looking nose shapes using bionic technology inspired by biological structures.

Main products

  • Yusha Silicone Implant – available in 20 models with thicknesses from 3–7 mm and lengths from 45–60 mm
  • Model T40-650 – the most popular model, measuring 6 mm thick and 50 mm long
  • Particle Surface + Groove Design – helps reduce implant shifting and displacement
  • Vertical Board Support – a unique structural support system for the nasal tip

Advantages

  • Yusha offers more than 50–100 product models with a wide range of sizes, heights, and curves such as S-line and L-line
  • High softness creates a more natural appearance after rhinoplasty without stiffness
  • Wanhe’s medical-grade silicone is highly stable and does not deform or shrink over time
  • Since the implants are pre-shaped in standard forms, surgery time is often faster compared to implant lines requiring extensive carving and customization

Disadvantages

  • Moderate tissue adhesion because solid silicone does not contain porous structures like ePTFE implants
  • Solid silicone is heavier than porous biological implants and may place pressure on the nasal tip if excessive height is added
  • Risk of implant visibility and redness at the nasal tip in individuals with very thin skin

Segment: Mid-range segment

Compatibility rate:  Approximately 85%–90%.

Reputation: Guangzhou Wanhe Plastic Materials Co. has achieved international certifications such as ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 and is licensed by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). In China, Wanhe is considered a “national implant brand” thanks to more than 25 years of experience. In Vietnam, this implant line has been approved by the Ministry of Health and widely used for decades in mid-range cosmetic clinics.

Key difference:  A biological silicone implant line focused on softness, natural appearance, affordability, and suitability for the mass market.

Commonly used in:  Most popular in Southeast Asia, especially Vietnam.

BISTOOL – SOFTXIL

Bistool Co., Ltd. is a major South Korean brand in the aesthetic material manufacturing industry, globally recognized for pioneering personalized nasal implant designs.

Softxil is a premium silicone nasal implant line produced by Bistool in South Korea. It is a specially designed “dual-layer” implant created to overcome the rigid appearance and feel of traditional silicone implants. The implant line includes around 50 different designs, divided into styles such as S-line, L-line, with or without support extensions for columella reconstruction.

Advantages

  • Smart dual-layer design
  • Helps reduce surgery time
  • Ideal thinness allows the implant to fit closely against the nasal bone without visible implant edges
  • Suitable for a wide variety of nose shapes

Disadvantages

  • Although premium-grade, it is still a solid implant material without porous structures, so human tissue cannot grow into it, increasing the possibility of capsular contracture
  • Less suitable for individuals with thin nasal skin, as excessive augmentation may still lead to redness at the nasal tip
  • Lower tissue adhesion compared to ePTFE implants

Segment: Mid-to-premium segment, suitable for patients who prefer silicone implants but want a higher-end option than Wanhe products.

Compatibility rate:  Approximately 85%–90%.

Reputation: Certified by the U.S. FDA, Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA), and CE standards in Europe.

Key difference: Extremely flexible, soft, natural-looking, and easier to remove compared to many traditional implant materials.

Commonly used in: South Korea and Southeast Asia.

Softxil implants are available in up to 50 different designs and are developed to overcome the rigid appearance and feel of traditional silicone implants.
